Each month there are new photos about New Zealand culture eg nature, food, special days etc. Look at each photo and read the text carefully. Click the photo to make it bigger. Answer the questions at the end of each section and check your answers.

Photo 1: Golf
The weather is not usually very good but you might get a good day to play golf.
This golf course is in the Cascades Park in the Waitakere Ranges, Auckland.
Photos 2-4:
Activities at the new Trusts Waitakere Stadium in west Auckland.
This stadium was opened in September and you can play basketball and volleyball, go rockclimbing and do judo here.
Photo 5: Mowing the lawn!
The grass grows really fast in September and you will hear lawnmowers whenever there is a fine period.

This is the time to see blossoms: white ones are plum, pink ones are peach.
Photo 3: Kowhai flower. This New Zealand tree has yellow flowers with nectar (sweet flower juice) that tui love. The picture on the right is the tui on a flax bush. Tui sing after they drink nectar from flax flowers too.
