Feijoas (green) and tamarillos ( tree tomatoes is the old name) and guavas are subtropical fruit which are ripe in April and May.
These grow best in the warmer parts of New Zealand and often in people's back yards.
They are smaller than South African guavas and are red or yellow-green.
Easter eggs are always chocolate in New Zealand and often other shapes of spring like birds, and bunnies.
The shapes of spring are of course a northern hemisphere custom! This year Easter is in April.
